Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview:

NielsenIQ Slice is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Engineering team in Pune. You will work on Java-based public web services contributing to high-volume, distributed infrastructure powering data extraction and low-latency delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a recognized expert in software design, architecture, and performance optimization.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of critical systems with focus on scalability and maintainability.
• Define system-wide design patterns, coding standards, and architectural principles.
• Architect scalable, event-driven distributed systems for high-volume workloads.
• Solve complex challenges in fault-tolerant architectures to improve reliability.
• Design API contracts with backward compatibility and interoperability.
• Implement observability strategies and apply polyglot persistence principles.
• Leverage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/Azure), Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes for deployment efficiency.
• Establish automated testing frameworks and drive DevOps excellence including security best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience building production software.
• Expert knowledge of Java development, multi-threading programming, SQL/NoSQL data stores.
• Familiarity with Hibernate/JPA technologies and clean code principles.
• Experience implementing complex algorithms and cloud-native CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
