About the Role:

We are partnering with a global bank to establish its India technology and operations centre. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will anchor our engineering team by owning complex systems end-to-end and setting the technical bar for those around you.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership:
• Design and build correct, scalable, and maintainable high-impact systems under real load.
• Drive architecture decisions within your area of ownership.
• Lead complex debugging efforts and production incident response.
• Mentorship & Collaboration:
• Review code and design documentation to raise the technical bar across the team.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices in design, testing, and delivery.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to scope and sequence roadmap work.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You have 5 to 10 years of experience building production systems at scale. You possess strong system-design skills with a keen understanding of trade-offs regarding performance, reliability, and cost. You have a track record of owning systems from design through on-call support. Clear written and spoken English proficiency is essential for this remote role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical workstreams.
• Exposure to regulated environments such as finance, banking, or payments.
• Familiarity with distributed-systems patterns including queues, caching, and sharding.
