Senior Software Engineer - Global Banking Technology Centre
About the Role
A global bank is establishing its India technology and operations centre in partnership with Flexiple. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will anchor this new engineering team, owning complex systems end-to-end and setting the technical standards for your colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Ownership: Design and build scalable, maintainable systems capable of handling real-world production loads. Drive architecture decisions within your area of ownership and lead resolution of high-priority debugging efforts and incident response.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Review code and design documentation to elevate the team's technical bar. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices for design, testing, and delivery.
- Roadmap Execution: Partner with product and engineering leadership to scope, sequence, and execute roadmap initiatives effectively.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You have 5-10 years of experience building and operating production systems at scale. You possess strong system-design skills involving trade-offs in performance, reliability, and cost. Your track record includes owning a service from design through on-call support. Clear written and spoken English proficiency is required for this remote role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mentoring experience or leadership of small technical workstreams.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (finance, banking, payments).
- Expertise in distributed-systems patterns such as queues, caching, and sharding.
