Senior Software Engineer
About the Role:
A global bank is establishing its India technology and operations center in partnership with Flexiple. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to anchor our engineering team. In this role, you will own complex systems end-to-end and set the technical standard for your peers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Ownership: Design and build correct, scalable, and maintainable systems capable of handling real-world load.
- Architecture Leadership: Drive design decisions within your area of ownership for the broader team.
- Incident Management: Lead complex debugging efforts and respond to production incidents effectively.
- Mentorship & Collaboration:
- Review code and technical documentation to raise the engineering bar across the organization.
- Roadmap Execution: Partner with product and leadership teams to scope and sequence roadmap initiatives.
- Experience: 5-10 years building and operating production systems at scale.
- System Design: Strong expertise in trade-offs regarding performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Lifetime Ownership: Demonstrated track record of owning a system or service from initial design through on-call support.
- Communication: Clear written and spoken English skills with a reliable remote-work setup.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical workstreams.
- Exposure to regulated environments such as finance, banking, or payments (high availability).
- Familiarity with distributed-systems patterns including queues, caching mechanisms, and sharding strategies.
