Senior Software Engineer II - Cloud SOAR, CyberSecurity

Sumo Logic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) team. Our Cloud SOAR platform is designed to enhance security operations by automating and orchestrating workflows across various security tools and systems. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our advanced cloud-based SOAR solutions. A deep understanding of cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and a drive for innovation are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based SOAR solutions adhering to the highest standards of software quality and performance.
• Cybersecurity Expertise: Leverage your cybersecurity knowledge to build advanced threat detection, response, and automation capabilities within our SOAR platform.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, architects, and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality features.
• Innovation: Stay current with the latest advancements in cloud security and SOAR technologies, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning.
• Customer Focus: Engage with customers to understand their requirements and challenges, translating them into effective technical solutions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside Ops/SRE and customer success teams to ensure prompt responses and resolutions for customer escalations and production issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in software engineering.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and programming languages like Python, Java, or Go. Experience with cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM/SOAR is highly preferred.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Agile Development: Proven experience with Agile development methodologies and practices.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Customer Orientation: Experience working directly with customers to gather requirements, provide support, and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
