Sumo Logic is seeking a skilled Software Engineer for its Cloud SIEM team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our advanced cloud-based SIEM solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable cloud services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and launch new features.
• Optimize service performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs.
• Engage in CI/CD processes and provide on-call production support.
• Contribute to maintaining code quality, organization, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster their technical growth.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure product innovation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of industry experience with a demonstrated track record of ownership.
• Proficiency with Scala (or another JVM language) and Kafka in production settings.
• Experience in multi-threaded programming and globally distributed systems, ideally on AWS.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to learn quickly, solve complex problems, and adapt to new technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Willingness for occasional on-call availability.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Experience building or maintaining production services using Python.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Knowledge and experience operating Kafka at scale.
• Experience running Apache Spark and Iceberg in production environments.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Experience with CI pipelines like GitHub Actions.
• A GitHub profile showcasing recent activity and open-source contributions is a plus.
