Senior Software Engineer I

Sumo Logic is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer I, Backend, to join our dynamic Platform Experiences team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. This team is instrumental in developing and maintaining scalable, cost-efficient, and highly available backend services that power Sumo Logic's Infrastructure Monitoring solution.

As a key member of this team, you will focus on the critical post-processing of customer data, including logs and metrics, after ingestion. Your responsibilities will encompass essential functions such as reporting, alerting, and forwarding data to various destinations, ensuring the seamless operation of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable cloud services.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of backend services.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and address software defects.
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, organization, and automation.
• Actively participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to enhance team development.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and skill development.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our products remain at the forefront of innovation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in software engineering.
• Technical Skills: Proven working experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Proficiency in at least one programming language from Scala, Java, Python, or Go is required.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, robust solutions.
• Agile Development: Practical experience with Agile development methodologies and best practices.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
