Senior Software Engineer - Java Full Stack, SRE & Automation

Wells Fargo is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana. This role focuses on Java Full Stack Development, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Automation, Monitoring, and Observability.

About this Role

In this senior position, you will lead and contribute to complex technical initiatives. You will be instrumental in developing strategies, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software solutions. This includes handling upgrades and deployments, evaluating new technologies, and resolving challenging technical issues. You will collaborate with peers and management, providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments.
• Contribute to large-scale strategic planning.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software for projects, including upgrades and deployments.
• Review and address moderately complex technical challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures.
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead efforts to meet client needs, leveraging a solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with peers and management to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals.
• Lead projects and serve as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to junior staff.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of Software Engineering experience, or an equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Desired Qualifications

• Software Development: Proficient in Java, Python, SQL, bash, or a combination of other object-oriented and scripting languages.
• Automation: Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Amelia.
• Java Full Stack: Skilled in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Angular/React JS, Spring Boot, NodeJS.
• Database: Experience with Oracle, SQL, Mongo, and basic data modeling.
• OS and Platform: Familiarity with Azure, SQLMI, GCP, PCF, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Windows.
• CI/CD: Experience with EPL/EPLX, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Checkmarks, Blackduck, ServiceNow AVR, Artifactory.
• Observability and AIOPS: Knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic, Kibana, AppDynamics, Splunk.
• Proven track record of creating innovative and complex automation solutions using a combination of tooling and code.
• AI/ML, GenAI: Exposure to Tachyon, NotebookLM, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, LLM Models.
• UI/UX Design: Ability to design and deliver high-quality user interfaces for web and mobile platforms. Experience with Figma for wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure designs adhere to responsive and accessibility standards (WCAG). Collaborate with developers for accurate implementation. Maintain and evolve design systems and component libraries. Participate in design reviews and present concepts. Stay current with UI/UX trends.

Job Expectations

• Proficiency in Figma for wireframes, prototypes, and UI design.
• Strong knowledge of CSS (Flexbox, Grid) for layout implementation.
• Familiarity with HTML and front-end principles.
• Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces aligned with UX best practices.
• Skilled in interaction design and micro-interactions.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Ability to collaborate with developers and communicate design specifications clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in agile environments.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for asset creation.
• Experience designing for multiple platforms (web, mobile, tablet).
• Experience using project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Knowledge of JavaScript basics for better collaboration with developers.
• Experience with prototyping tools beyond Figma.
• Familiarity with user research and usability testing.
