Senior Software Engineer

Experian is seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team and spearhead our cloud modernization initiatives. This is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

As a senior developer within an agile environment, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to agile principles, all within established timelines. Your responsibilities will include translating complex business needs into efficient, scalable, and defect-free code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle—from design and development to testing and release. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to refining our development processes and practices, championing a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and improvement. Providing clear and comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and system architecture is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience in building secure, high-volume, mission-critical web systems, particularly within regulated industries such as finance or insurance.
• Proficiency in translating business requirements into clean, scalable code, leveraging design patterns and adhering to security best practices.
• A strong capacity for both individual contribution and effective teamwork.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in .NET Core, .NET 6+, and .NET Framework, with a focus on building APIs using ASP.NET and C#.
• Proven experience in writing unit tests (e.g., NUnit), utilizing mocking frameworks, and implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with integration testing using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Advanced skills in building REST, SOAP, and gRPC APIs within microservices/SOA architectures.
• Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and reusing frameworks and libraries.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for application deployment and management.
• Deep understanding of clean code principles, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Expertise with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, alongside version control systems (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD practices.
• Extensive experience working in Agile teams, employing methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
• Familiarity with static code analysis and vulnerability management tools.

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of Generative AI (GenAI) tools for coding assistance.
• AWS certifications or equivalent public cloud certifications.
• Experience in deploying and scaling services on Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or EKS.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
• Experience with event streaming/messaging tools such as Kafka, EventBridge, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
