Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Frontend development to join our dynamic team at PayPal in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of innovative features and functionalities delivered through applications and services. You will collaborate closely with your peers and backend developers, both within your immediate team and across the broader organization. Working hand-in-hand with product managers and User Experience Designers, you will leverage agile methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will also extend to working with operations teams to ensure the high availability and reliability of your applications and services, as well as providing ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable systems.
• Enhance system performance and reliability through strategic optimization.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, UX Design, and Backend Engineering.
• Ensure applications and services are highly available and reliable.
• Support and maintain applications and services post-deployment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional Frontend development experience.
• Proficiency in core web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Expertise in at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Strong understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and data structures & algorithms skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of payment processing or financial services industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with design patterns.
