Senior Software Engineer — Distributed Systems (Rust)

We are building a database and cold-storage tier for observability data at petabyte scale, focusing on making telemetry data cost-efficient to store and fast to query. Our technology stack is centered around Rust and Apache DataFusion.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable systems for storing and querying observability data.
• Build database components using Rust, leveraging columnar formats like Parquet and Arrow.
• Work across query engines on planning, execution, optimization, and storage layers.
• Architect distributed systems ensuring high throughput, low latency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Optimize performance across CPU, memory, I/O, and network boundaries.

We are looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend/infrastructure focus.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Rust programming in production systems (Hard Requirement).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and data structures/algorithms.
• Experience with Kubernetes for deploying stateful workloads.
• Familiarity with query engines like Spark, Trino, DuckDB, ClickHouse, or Velox.
