The Core team, where this role is based, builds the essential technical foundation for Google's products, impacting critical design elements, developer platforms, and infrastructure across the company.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, with 1 year of experience in software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience in developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate and select technologies.
- Review code developed by other engineers, providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices, including style guidelines, code checking, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the root causes and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
