Role Overview
The Senior Software Engineer supports enterprise delivery by building and enhancing application components, integrations, and data structures using an AI-first engineering approach. This role sits within IT, aligned to HCM Portfolio Leadership, supporting forward-deployed engineering (FDE) teams on initial builds and sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Build full stack application components across front-end, back-end, and integration layers under senior guidance for enterprise solutions including iterative enhancements.
- Incorporate AI-enabled workflows and automation where appropriate within IT standards to contribute to innovative solutions.
- Develop API-based integrations and batch/mass data processing workflows following established architectural patterns.
- Assist with database design, modeling, and structuring for scalable systems.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams moving solutions from concept to production.
- Support testing, deployment, defect resolution, and post-release sustainment activities.
- Maintain adherence to security, access, change/release controls including ITGC/SOX compliance where applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of software engineering experience. Proficiency in Python back-end services and modern JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Next.js, TypeScript is required.
- Demonstrated ability to build APIs and support system integrations.
- Strong foundational knowledge of databases and data structures.
- Familiarity with source control tools such as GitHub.
- Understanding of SDLC practices including testing and deployment.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with HR platforms like Workday, exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud environments, CI/CD tool experience (GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines), and iterative pod-based delivery models will be beneficial. Strong communication skills and willingness to learn the supported business domain are essential.
