Full Job Description
Okta is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design and scaling of intelligent automation across their Enterprise Technology ecosystem. This role focuses on reducing manual operational work, improving developer productivity, and accelerating software delivery lifecycle for platforms like Salesforce, NetSuite, AEM, Boomi, identity systems, CI/CD platforms, and more.
The ideal candidate will build reliable automation services, reusable integration patterns, and AI-assisted developer agents that analyze source code, metadata, configuration, tickets, documentation, and operational context. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing AI-powered developer agents to automate release planning, validation, dependency analysis, testing, deployment coordination, and rollback activities.
- Designing cross-platform automation frameworks for Salesforce, NetSuite, AEM, Boomi, Okta, GitHub, CI/CD systems, and other enterprise applications, ensuring reusable APIs, connectors, and event-driven services.
- Optimizing Salesforce Flows, Apex utilities, and platform integrations while implementing security controls like Profiles, Permission Sets, and Event Monitoring.
- Automating CI/CD pipelines, sandbox refreshes, data masking, and environment management to streamline deployments and reduce manual intervention.
- Ensuring automation security, governance, and reliability through least-privilege access, guardrails, and comprehensive logging.
- Collaborating with DevSecOps teams to standardize deployment patterns and establish metrics for productivity gains, deployment quality, and automation adoption.
- Experience with AI/ML integration, agentic workflows, and LLM APIs is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in software engineering, enterprise automation, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar languages.
- Proven experience with REST APIs, OAuth, event-driven workflows, and SaaS integrations.
- Deep knowledge of Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and environment management.
- Salesforce expertise (Apex, Flows, CLI, metadata APIs) and experience with enterprise platforms like NetSuite, AEM, or Boomi.
- Experience with AI/ML, agent frameworks, and developer tools.
- Strong debugging, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
