Full Job Description
This is a Senior Software Engineer role at Okta, Bengaluru, focused on building and scaling highly available, secure, and scalable backend systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver powerful APIs and features for B2B customers, driving technical excellence and mentoring engineers. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing robust APIs and features for enterprise identity management, using Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and React.
- Optimizing codebase reliability, maintainability, and scalability while participating in on-call rotations for customer support.
- Mentoring junior engineers on best practices, testing, and engineering principles.
- Working closely with Product Managers and Designers to define feature specifications and refine user experiences.
- Automating user lifecycle management for B2B SaaS applications, ensuring seamless access for customers and partners.
To qualify, you must have:
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale systems or services.
- Proven expertise in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and backend API development.
- Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Strong communication skills, mentorship ability, and autonomy in problem-solving.
