Senior Software Engineer

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Bengaluru to develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and J2EE technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java 8, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate, with a strong focus on microservices development. Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and implementing design patterns like Singleton, DAO, and MVC is essential. Experience with integration and sanity testing, along with working in an Agile (Scrum) environment, is required. The role involves contributing to the analysis, design, coding, and testing phases of application development, ensuring quality delivery to clients. Familiarity with Unix and Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures is also beneficial. The engineer will be responsible for developing microservices using frameworks such as Quarkus or Spring Boot, and implementing authentication/authorization using Open ID Connect (OIDC) or JSON Web Tokens (JWT). Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are paramount. This role emphasizes technical ownership, timely task completion, thorough problem understanding before solution implementation, and the ability to identify and propose innovative ideas. The position requires adaptability to new environments, changing requirements, and the ability to pivot quickly. Remote working skills are crucial for effective learning of new environments, domains, and products. The candidate should be a self-starter, capable of setting direction for themselves and others in uncertain situations, and possess proven mentoring and coaching abilities within the team.
