Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain enterprise-grade system stability across global employment, benefits, and compliance workflows to ensure zero critical failures in employee lifecycle operations.
• Enable rapid integration of new employment models, jurisdictions, and regulatory frameworks with minimal engineering effort while ensuring zero downtime.
• Optimize performance by significantly reducing workflow latency, data synchronization times, and operational overhead within distributed systems environments.
• Create modular, well-abstracted APIs and developer frameworks that empower internal teams to build custom PEO system solutions without friction.
• Demonstrate direct business impact through accelerated onboarding of new countries and partners, reduced manual interventions, and measurable improvements in customer satisfaction and retention metrics.

Requirements

• Possess 7-10 years of experience architecting large-scale distributed systems within high-compliance or high-integrity domains such as HR tech, Payroll solutions, FinTech applications, or Insurance platforms.
• Show deep expertise in domain-driven design principles, advanced data modeling strategies, and compliance-first architectural patterns.
• Bring proven experience scaling complex regulatory environments or multi-tenant systems, ideally with a focus on employment verification, benefits administration, or HR platform operations.
• Demonstrate proficiency designing extensible service boundaries that maintain strict auditability standards while ensuring backward compatibility for legacy integrations.
• Maintain strong understanding of policy enforcement mechanisms, rule engine implementation strategies, and event-driven system architectures.
• Show ability to translate complex legal requirements and operational constraints into elegant, maintainable engineering abstractions suitable for production environments.
• Act as a hands-on architectural leader capable of setting technical direction for teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving large-scale sustainable transformations within the organization.

Bonus Points

• Demonstrate experience with compliance-as-code methodologies or policy automation framework implementations.
• Show exposure to global employment systems, Employer of Record (EOR) platforms, or multi-country workforce management solutions.
• Familiarity with event sourcing patterns, CQRS architecture implementation, and streaming data processing technologies would be advantageous.
