Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at The Walt Disney Company, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of user-facing applications with a focus on usability, performance, accessibility, and visual excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including designers and product managers—to deliver high-quality, production-ready features.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure, and user-centric full-stack applications using modern frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Develop and optimize backend services, APIs, and data integrations to support seamless front-end functionality and system workflows.
- Implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Drive architectural decisions, technical documentation, and observability practices to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate with shared platforms and internal services.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather user needs and refine tools and interfaces for better usability.
- Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation to support development, compliance, and team adoption.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development, including front-end and backend roles.
- Proven expertise in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React.js) and backend technologies (e.g., Java, Node.js, Python).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), microservices, event-driven architectures, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Design sensibility or experience working closely with UX/UI designers.
- Open-source contributions or a portfolio showcasing full-stack projects.
- Passion for innovation, clean code, and user-centric design.
