Kiaaka Global is actively seeking an exceptional Backend SDE II to join their team on a leading EdTech platform. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and scaling robust backend systems, focusing on high-performance APIs, distributed systems, and scalable microservices.

About the Role

As a Backend SDE II, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining secure backend services primarily using Node.js. Your responsibilities will include building efficient RESTful APIs, implementing event-driven architectures, and managing both SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis. You will also be tasked with implementing best practices for fault tolerance, caching, and overall system resiliency. Collaboration with the DevOps team for CI/CD pipeline management and containerized deployments is a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure backend services using Node.js.
• Build RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Manage SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Implement best practices for fault tolerance, caching, and resiliency.
• Collaborate with DevOps to manage CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.

Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years in backend development.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in Node.js, AWS (Lambda), Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in system design, database optimization, and performance tuning.
• Asset: Candidates must be willing to bring their own laptop/desktop.
