Full Job Description
This is a **Senior Software Development Engineer (Tech Lead)** role based in India, managed by a partner company. You will join a high-impact engineering team focused on building and scaling distributed backend systems for global digital experiences serving millions of users. In this **full-time, remote-first** position, you will act as both a hands-on senior engineer and a technical leader, shaping architecture, driving execution, and ensuring production-grade reliability across complex systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and development of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed backend systems using modern cloud architectures.
- Driving end-to-end delivery of complex features and platform capabilities from design to production deployment.
- Architecting greenfield solutions and evolving existing systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Ownership of technical design discussions, ensuring strong system design principles and long-term maintainability.
- Debugging and resolving critical production issues across distributed systems and microservices.
- Implementing and improving observability practices (monitoring, logging, alerting, distributed tracing).
- Mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, and promoting engineering best practices.
- Driving Agile/Scrum ceremonies and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, including AI-assisted engineering and cloud-native tools.
**Key Requirements:**
- 8+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale, production-grade backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in backend languages like Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud services (EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, IAM).
- Experience with distributed systems design, high availability, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
- Strong database expertise (PostgreSQL/Aurora, MongoDB) with scalability focus.
- Proven technical leadership, including mentoring and Agile/Scrum experience.
**Nice-to-Haves:**
- Frontend or full-stack experience (React).
- Load/performance testing tools (k6, Locust, JMeter).
- AI/ML or LLM-powered system integrations.
- Strong communication skills for ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
