Full Job Description
Sophos is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Sales Engineer Specialist to join its pre-sales team in Mumbai, India. This role is pivotal in enabling and accelerating customer outcomes through expert cybersecurity platform storytelling, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), and incident response alignment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the current threat landscape and the challenges faced by C-level executives.
As the technical expert throughout the sales lifecycle, you will educate, influence, and solve complex security challenges for customers, partners, and internal sales teams. This is a hybrid role with potential for remote work, requiring legal authorization to work in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to prospects and customers, ranging from technical leads to CISOs. Understand and articulate security pain points, threats, and risk mitigation strategies. Drive discovery, solution design, and technical validation across Sophos's full product and services portfolio. Provide high-level architecture guidance and cyber strategy aligned with business goals. Lead technical win strategies and ensure successful proof-of-concepts, demos, and evaluations. Identify opportunities for solution expansion and long-term value creation in key accounts.
- Partner & Channel Enablement: Deliver technical enablement to MSSPs, MSPs, Strategic Channel Partners, and distributors. Guide partners in effectively positioning Sophos solutions for the upper mid-market and enterprise segments. Collaborate with partners to shape go-to-market solutions and align with joint opportunity plans. Champion the Sophos technical vision within channel communities and among integrators.
- Strategic Sales Support: Partner with Sales and SEs to drive territory planning, technical account strategy, and pipeline growth. Influence revenue goals by supporting opportunity qualification, proposals, and technical closure. Represent Sophos at customer events, executive briefings, and strategic meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in presales or technical consulting experience within the Cybersecurity domain.
- Strong experience catering to the enterprise customer segment.
- In-depth knowledge of cyber threats, attacker behaviors, and modern detection strategies.
- Deep technical expertise in network security, EDR/XDR, SIEM/SOAR, email/cloud security, SOC operations, and firewalls.
- Proven experience with MDR, incident response planning, and demonstrating ROI from managed detection and response services.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical and executive audiences through compelling storytelling and solution framing.
- Strong understanding of competitive cybersecurity vendors and platform differentiation strategies.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GIAC, CCSP) are a significant advantage.
