Senior Research Associate

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate - Data Analytics (Part-Time Temporary) to join our team at Hanover Research. In this role, you will analyze higher education data and create insightful dashboards to help institutions understand academic program costs, revenues, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently process and clean complex datasets for advanced analysis.
• Create interactive and informative dashboards using Power BI.
• Perform statistical modeling, regression analysis, and econometric methods on education-related data.
• Formulate hypotheses and locate compelling support for arguments under tight deadlines.
• Write clear, concise findings and key takeaways tailored for business or non-technical audiences.
• Provide regular project updates to managers and proactively identify potential challenges.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with common academic datasets (course sections, faculty workload, student enrollment, compensation, staffing).
• Ability to evaluate analytical outputs within a higher education context and recommend methodological adjustments.
• Proficiency in data visualization software, specifically Power BI.
• Intermediate-level user of statistical analysis software, particularly Stata and R.
• Strong command of English with excellent writing/editing skills for professional audiences.
• High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
