Senior Remediation Engineer

About the Role

The Environmental Services (ENS) team at Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a Senior Remediation Engineer to join our growing Remediation practice. You will be a critical part of a team dedicated to solving complex environmental challenges, contributing to projects aimed at cleaning up and restoring the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of field data, assess subsurface conditions, and develop effective remediation strategies for clients in electrical utility, solid waste, mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, renewable energy, and others.
• Manage all aspects of environmental site assessment and remediation projects for USA-based sites from initial assessments to hydrogeologic investigations, conceptual site models, contaminant fate and transport, design, and implementation.
• Leverage cutting-edge technology including 3D visualization modeling, forensic studies, high resolution site characterization (HRSC), and systems engineering design.
• Produce technical reports and design documents of high quality for US-based clientele.
• Evaluate US regulations (e.g., EPA) to develop strategic approaches for cost-effective solutions to legacy contamination.
• Analyze and interpret environmental data; mentor junior-level staff; assist with recruiting, development, and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering program.
• Minimum of 9 years relevant experience (15+ preferred) across diverse clientele including utilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, mining, and public sector.
• Demonstrated knowledge of US environmental regulations and design requirements.
• Strong organization skills to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
• Ability to drive collaborative efforts with US-based regional offices.
• Experience directing work products prepared by junior staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
