Senior Python Developer - Hybrid Role in Pune

Whiz IT Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work model, based in Pune, Maharashtra.

About the Role

You will play a crucial role in re-architecting and modernizing a core post-trade processing platform. This involves transitioning legacy on-premise Python applications into high-performance, containerized microservices deployed on Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities

• Refactor and modernize legacy Python applications into scalable, modular services.
• Design and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL databases for high-volume transactional workloads.
• Support and enhance critical batch jobs and back-office trading processes, including trade capture, reconciliation, settlement, and reporting.
• Collaborate with platform teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and observability.
• Provide end-to-end ownership and production support during India business hours.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of trading systems.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of total professional experience, with at least 5 years in advanced Python development.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including performance tuning and query optimization.
• Proven experience in re-architecting legacy systems into cloud/containerized environments.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/logging tools.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to post-trade, clearing, or financial systems.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol, REST APIs, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Understanding of high-availability and distributed system design principles.
