Senior Project Engineer

Soliton is seeking a Senior Developer with strong Python expertise to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to implement solutions for diverse applications within the Semiconductor, Medical, Automotive, High-Tech Capital Equipment, and Manufacturing industries. You will collaborate with industry-leading companies, gaining extensive experience in Test and Measurement Automation. The Senior Developer will be instrumental in guiding their team, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and a clear long-term technical vision.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively within an Agile team to achieve shared objectives.
• Maintain high standards of quality and meticulous attention to detail in all work.
• Understand and prioritize customer requirements.
• Break down complex requirements, provide detailed estimations, and develop comprehensive plans.
• Proactively identify and manage technical risks and issues.
• Develop detailed designs and prototypes by exploring innovative concepts.
• Write high-quality code adhering to established standards, develop, debug, and design user interfaces.
• Participate in Design, Code, and Usability reviews with team members.
• Present work to clients, delivering high-quality results with necessary documentation.
• Provide regular project status updates and development progress reports to senior management.
• Actively participate in project meetings with management and fellow team members.
• Generate innovative ideas, presenting them to clients with thorough impact analysis.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of proven Python programming experience with an Engineering Graduation.
• Experience in developing web applications using Python.
• Proficient in SQL and various database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Solid understanding of Python Design Patterns.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks, particularly pytest.
• Good grasp of test and measurement fundamentals.
• Demonstrated eagerness to stay current with Python trends and emerging technologies through active engagement in online communities, courses, and forums.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.

Desirable Skills:

• Ability to debug electronic hardware and/or interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience in characterizing and testing semiconductor devices.
• C programming experience.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools like Git, SVN, and Perforce.
• Experience working with geographically distributed development teams.
• LabVIEW and TestStand development experience are considered a plus.
• CLD or CLA certification is advantageous.

Work Arrangement: This position is initially Work From Office (WFO) for the first 12 months. Remote or hybrid work options may be considered thereafter, based on individual performance and business needs.
