Senior Platform Engineer

ValGenesis is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer specializing in SaaSOps to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day SaaS operations of our platforms and products, ensuring the highest levels of availability, security, and performance for our infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing long-term SaaS operations, focusing on high availability, security, and performance.
• Collaborating closely with the platform engineering and development teams to build enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native SaaS products.
• Automating infrastructure-as-code for cloud-native technologies.
• Implementing robust continuous integration practices, including code quality gates, static and dynamic security analysis, and container image scanning.
• Designing and implementing an integrated DevSecOps toolchain with a security-first approach.
• Integrating source control systems (GitHub or Azure DevOps) with build pipelines, artifact repositories (ACR), container scanning tools, and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows.
• Implementing secure secrets management using Azure Key Vault for cloud environments and HashiCorp Vault for on-prem deployments.
• Enforcing policy-as-code practices and compliance guardrails across all environments.
• Enabling Kubernetes-based deployments across OpenShift, Rancher, or upstream Kubernetes environments.
• Automating the provisioning and configuration of core platform components, including AKS clusters, Azure Front Door and Application Gateway, PostgreSQL Flexible Servers, Cosmos DB, and Private Endpoints/VNet architecture.
• Supporting Hub-Spoke networking models and hybrid connectivity patterns.
• Enabling vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows for code, containers, and infrastructure.
• Automating security posture management and compliance checks, enforcing RBAC and least-privilege access models.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (AKS, PaaS/SaaS offerings), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub) in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and architectural design.
• Experience in Linux system administration, network management, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Extensive experience designing and operating solutions on Microsoft Azure, utilizing both SaaS and PaaS services.
• Experience with Azure PaaS services such as PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Cosmos DB, Azure Cache for Redis, and Azure Storage.
• Significant hands-on experience with Azure services including AKS, Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, and Redis.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes in both AKS and on-prem environments.
• Solid experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with container build processes and managing container registries like Azure Container Registry (ACR).
• Experience integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST and DAST tools.
• Experience implementing Policy-as-Code using tools like OPA or Azure Policy for governance and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for cloud-based monitoring.
• Experience configuring and managing Private DNS and Private Endpoints.
