Role Overview
We are building a next-generation platform leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and intelligent workflows to augment quantitative analysts, enhance governance, and accelerate critical risk model delivery. As an Assistant Vice President in Technology Applications Development within the Maharashtra region, you will collaborate with stakeholders to design, build, and deploy generative AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of platform modules from conception to production deployment, exercising sound judgement to navigate ambiguity independently.
- Build proofs-of-concept and prototypes using Python ecosystems (orchestration pipelines, RAG systems, LLM integrations) validated against stakeholder feedback in fast-paced environments.
- Champion engineering best practices including clean code development, automated testing strategies, CI/CD implementation, comprehensive logging frameworks, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Develop secure integrations with internal data sources, external APIs, and LLM providers ensuring full compliance with Citi's rigorous data governance standards.
- Demonstrate technical leadership by contributing to architectural direction while maintaining excellent communication skills across distributed global teams spanning multiple time zones.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with 8-12 years of extensive software engineering experience demonstrating expertise in Python backend development, systems fundamentals including REST APIs and SQL databases, and familiarity with containerized environments. Strong knowledge of Generative AI concepts such as LLMs, RAG architectures, MCP tool interfaces, and agentic platforms is essential.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Java/C++ alongside Python proficiency.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies for developing technical workflow user interfaces.
- Demonstrated financial domain knowledge particularly in quantitative finance, risk management, or Model Risk Management contexts.
This role operates within a regulated environment requiring auditable and compliant software development practices aligned with industry standards such as SR 11-7, CCAR, CECL regulations for credit/risk modeling (PD/LGD/EAD).
