Full Job Description
Officeworks is seeking a Senior People and Capability Manager for its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, India. This pivotal role will establish and lead the People agenda for Officeworks' Bengaluru operations, ensuring the necessary foundations, leadership support, and employee experience are in place for growth. The People team's mission is to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and scalable workforce, aligning global HR practices with local talent needs and supporting evolving business requirements.

- Translating global frameworks into practical, locally relevant solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish Bengaluru People Foundations: Build compliant and effective HR processes, documentation, systems, and local practices. Ensure alignment with local employment laws and Officeworks standards, mitigating people-related risks, and leading change management for workforce transitions. Act as a strategic HR advisor to the Bengaluru leadership team on organizational design and workforce planning.
- Deliver Recruitment, Onboarding, and Talent Support: Partner with Talent Acquisition on attraction, recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies. Lead local recruitment, ensuring timely and cost-effective hiring. Create an engaging onboarding experience for new team members. Support talent and succession planning, including workforce planning and future capability development.
- Embed Culture, Engagement, and People Programs: Integrate Officeworks' culture, values, and ways of working into local practices. Drive the rollout of People Experience initiatives such as culture, engagement, diversity & belonging, and capability programs. Develop employee engagement mechanisms, monitor engagement metrics, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Partner with Leaders on People Priorities: Support leaders in delivering the local people strategy and enhancing business outcomes and employee experience. Coach leaders on key lifecycle activities like performance, development, remuneration, and employee relations. Provide data-driven insights to leaders to support decision-making and capability building.
- Manage Compliance, Safety, and People Operations: Support the implementation of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing practices. Manage employee and industrial relations matters fairly and consistently. Support foundational People operations processes including onboarding, payroll, employee records, and annual HR cycles. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and statutory reporting, in partnership with legal and the CPO in Australia.
Collaboration:
You will work closely with fellow People and Capability Managers, the People Leadership Team (PLT), various People centers of excellence, senior leaders across Officeworks, and external stakeholders including GCC support providers and vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential: Tertiary qualification in HR, Business Administration, or related field. 10+ years of experience in People Partnering or HR Business Partnering, ideally across multiple geographies. Strong generalist HR experience, preferably in fast-paced environments. Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and managing multiple stakeholders. Experience in change, transformation, or growth environments. Proven ability to work autonomously and manage projects end-to-end. Strong influencing, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors). Deep understanding of the Indian talent landscape, compensation benchmarking, and labor laws.
- Preferred: Experience supporting the setup or growth of new business sites, shared services, or Global Capability Centres. Experience with both local and enterprise People processes in complex organizations. Familiarity with local India-based systems and vendors. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CIPD).
