About AGCO: Feeding the World, Driving Innovation

AGCO is at the forefront of solving critical global challenges, including feeding the world's growing population and mitigating climate change. Join our mission to make a tangible contribution to a sustainable future.

Role Overview: Senior MLOps Engineer, AI Platform Engineering

As a Senior MLOps Engineer within the AI Platform Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, constructing, and scaling the core capabilities that empower AI across AGCO. This position sits at the dynamic intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and DevOps, empowering AI delivery teams to reliably develop, deploy, and monitor models in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust, scalable MLOps pipelines to automate the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, from training to deployment and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and platform engineers to operationalize AI models across cloud and hybrid infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, traceability, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain containerized training and inference environments that facilitate reproducible ML workflows across diverse projects and teams.
  • Develop and optimize model CI/CD workflows utilizing tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Establish and monitor critical model observability metrics, including latency, drift, data quality, and inference errors across production pipelines.
  • Support the integration of ML models into various deployment targets, such as internal applications, APIs, business dashboards, and agricultural machinery hardware platforms.
  • Engage closely with enterprise architecture, BI engineering, and product engineering teams to ensure seamless deployments across cloud, edge, and embedded systems.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and active contributor, championing best practices in model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and rollback strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of AI platform tools and services, incorporating team feedback to enhance the platform roadmap.
  • Continuously explore and evaluate emerging tools within the MLOps ecosystem, proposing innovative solutions to boost velocity, visibility, and scalability.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software, data, or ML engineering, with at least 5 years dedicated to MLOps or operationalizing AI/ML workflows.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL, and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
  • Proven experience with public cloud platforms, with a preference for GCP (Vertex AI, GKE, Cloud Run) or AWS.
  • Proficiency in Databricks, FastAPI, and containerized environments leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.
  • A strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and infrastructure-as-code principles (e.g., Terraform).
  • Expertise with MLOps tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar platforms for model tracking, versioning, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with model monitoring frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and the implementation of mechanisms for model drift, performance degradation, and rollback.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to roadmap execution and deliver tangible outcomes.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across engineering, data science, and business teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a clear focus on impact and execution.
