  • Lead & Scale a High-Impact Team: Manage and develop a team of engineers, ensuring alignment with measurable outcomes. Prioritize team well-being by balancing new product development with platform stability and operational tasks to foster a sustainable work environment.
  • Champion Engineering Excellence: Act as a technical thought leader, elevating standards through rigorous design reviews, robust data modeling practices, and comprehensive observability for petabyte-scale systems.
  • Communicate with Influence: Effectively translate complex technical considerations into business-relevant insights for senior leadership. Produce clear documentation and stakeholder updates to ensure cross-functional alignment on scope, timelines, and expected impact.

  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-impact data engineering teams and data products.
  • Extensive experience designing and operating data pipelines for billions of events and petabyte-scale datasets, with a preference for experience in clickstream, web/app analytics, or engagement/retention data.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, Spark, and modern data platforms and orchestration tools (e.g., Databricks, Airflow/Prefect/Dagster) on major cloud providers like AWS.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Data Science/ML, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Data Platform teams, to achieve shared objectives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting complex technical topics to Director+ or VP-level executives.
  • A consistent history of proactively identifying challenges and opportunities, securing stakeholder alignment, and driving end-to-end project execution.

Preferred:

  • Experience developing data products for experimentation, marketing measurement, or growth analytics, and familiarity with dbt or semantic/metrics layers for standardized metrics.
