Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Java, AWS
Are you ready to lead and inspire multiple technical teams in advancing financial technologies? At JPMorgan Chase, within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you'll play a pivotal role as a Senior Manager of Software Engineering. This leadership position involves providing expert technical coaching and advisory to various teams, anticipating interdependencies, and influencing budget and technical strategies to enhance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direction, oversight, and coaching for software engineers working on tasks of varying complexity.
- Take accountability for decisions impacting team resources, budget, tactical operations, and process execution.
- Foster seamless collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate issues to ensure successful project execution, escalating as needed.
- Contribute insights to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations for team improvements.
- Cultivate an environment of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation within the team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of applied experience in software engineering concepts, with formal training or certification.
- At least 2 years of experience leading technologists to manage and resolve complex technical challenges within your domain.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams of technologists.
- Proven ability to guide and coach teams towards achieving goals aligned with strategic initiatives.
- Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Solid background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with expertise in technology disciplines.
- Proficiency in Java full-stack development, including Java, React, REST APIs, Web Services, and building event-driven microservices with Kafka streaming.
- Experience with the Spring Framework and AWS Services (S3, Terraform, PostgreSQL DB, Dynamo DB) within public cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of software architectural patterns for building robust, high-performance, real-time, and scalable APIs and data pipelines capable of handling high data volumes with optimal response times.
- Experience leading multiple high-performance teams, providing technical guidance, and delivering agnostic, reusable, and robust enterprise solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with development and build tools such as IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, BitBucket/Git/Gitflow, Hibernate, and Blue JS.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience within a large Financial Services IT environment.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.
- AWS Certification.
