Senior Manager

Allianz is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with extensive experience in software development and DevOps to lead initiatives in automating cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on building automation for Cloud Landing Zones and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of cloud solutions within our Pune, Maharashtra, India operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and efficient cloud solutions on AWS and Azure.
• Leading automation initiatives for cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborating with teams to integrate best practices in development, code quality, and automation.
• Guiding and mentoring development teams on DevOps and automation practices.
• Contributing to the design and implementation of cloud applications using serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns.
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitOps methodologies for streamlined deployments.
• Applying security best practices for secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Monitoring and optimizing cloud application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Staying updated with the latest cloud technologies and development trends.
• Ensuring software systems meet functional and non-functional requirements, adhering to software design, testing, and security best practices.
• Fostering continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, team reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cloud engineer with a strong focus on AWS; Azure experience is a plus.
• Solid experience in software development and DevOps practices.
• Expertise in AWS/Azure infrastructure automation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or JavaScript.
• Experience with serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative team-work abilities.
• Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with No-SQL databases such as DynamoDB.
• Experience in leading and mentoring development teams.
• Expertise in software architecture, development, and systems testing with a cloud focus.
• Strong technical guidance and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in applying quality gates, including code reviews and pair programming.
• Experience in code management and release processes, including Monorepo and Multirepo strategies.
• Solid understanding of functional programming principles and design patterns (DRY, KISS, SOLID).
• Proficiency in managing security protocols like ABAC, RBAC, JWT, SAML, AAD, and OIDC.
• Expertise in event-driven architecture, queues, streams, and pub/sub systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud networking and proxies.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow, and GitOps frameworks (Flux, ArgoCD).
• Polyglot programmer with expert proficiency in at least two languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, GoLang).
• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters, including custom CRDs and operators.
• Experience building serverless cloud applications.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Experience working in agile teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluency in UI development using React, Hooks, and TypeScript is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services; basic understanding of Azure is a plus.
• Experience developing/managing cloud infrastructures with Crossplane.io is a plus.
• Knowledge equivalent to AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is a plus.
