Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Manager – People Operations to lead and scale our People Operations team. This role emphasizes operational excellence, process standardization, and system-driven execution. You will be responsible for the end-to-end employee lifecycle operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability while developing robust systems and processes to support our rapid growth.
This leadership position requires strong execution rigor, systems thinking, and team management abilities. You will collaborate closely with Rewards, People Business Partners (PBPs), Payroll, and Business Leaders to enable efficient, data-driven people decisions. Your mandate is to build a future-ready People Operations engine, extending beyond day-to-day management.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Operations Ownership (End-to-End): Oversee and govern all employee lifecycle operations, including onboarding, background verification (BGV), HRMS management, employee documentation (letters, transfers, promotions), separations, and full and final settlement (F&F). Ensure high accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across all processes. Establish strong operational controls and governance mechanisms.
- Process Excellence & SOPs: Design and implement standardized, scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all People Operations processes. Drive process simplification and eliminate redundancies. Establish clear SLAs, audit frameworks, and quality benchmarks.
- Digitization & Systems: Lead HRMS optimization (Darwinbox or equivalent) and drive system adoption. Identify and implement opportunities for automation and digitization to reduce manual dependency and build self-serve, scalable workflows. Manage the implementation of tools such as helpdesk, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and engagement platforms, including vendor management.
- Audit, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies. Lead internal audits to ensure zero leakage and compliance gaps. Build strong documentation and audit-ready systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with PBPs, Payroll, Rewards, Finance, and Business Leaders to support operations and decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor on People Operations feasibility, risks, and process implications. Facilitate the smooth execution of compensation cycles, policy rollouts, and organizational changes.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building: Lead and develop a team of 4-5 People Operations professionals. Set clear goals, track performance, and build capability depth within the team. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Continuous Improvement & Scale: Build a future-ready People Operations engine capable of scaling with business growth. Utilize data and insights to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Drive initiatives that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
- 6–10 years of experience in People Operations / HR Operations.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end employee lifecycle operations at scale.
- Strong exposure to HRMS systems (Darwinbox preferred).
- Experience in process design, SOP creation, and operational scaling.
- Strong understanding of compliance, audits, and HR governance.
- Demonstrated experience in team management and capability building.
- Proven experience with people analytics and reporting.
