Summary
- Analyze complex business challenges, develop integrated analytical approaches, and leverage statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to contribute to solving unmet medical needs.
- Mine diverse data sources to uncover actionable insights and automate processes for increased efficiency and reusability.
- Manage the enterprise data lifecycle, from acquisition and enrichment to consumption, retention, and retirement, ensuring clean, accurate, and available data.
- Demonstrate high agility to work across various business domains, integrating findings with presentations, visualizations, and storytelling to clearly communicate business impact to stakeholders.
- Independently manage budgets, ensure appropriate staffing, and coordinate projects within the designated area.
- For team management roles: empower, guide, and coach team members, with initial supervision from senior leaders. This may be a first people management experience.
About the Role
Major Accountabilities:
- Manage own tasks and collaborate with team members, proactively planning, anticipating change, managing stakeholder expectations, identifying risks, and driving issues to resolution with minimal escalations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to address critical business problems.
- Gain a deep understanding of life science data sources, including preclinical, clinical, sales, contracting, promotions, social media, patient claims, and Real World Evidence (RWE).
- Research and co-develop data management strategies, new algorithms, statistical models, and business models, providing insights into structured and unstructured data.
- Quickly learn and apply tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of critical business questions.
- Support the evaluation of technology needs, novel scientific software, visualization tools, and computational approaches to enhance the efficiency and quality of Novartis practices.
- Independently identify relevant research articles and propose their application to Novartis business challenges.
- Develop automated solutions for data management, enabling repeated analysis refreshes and insight generation.
- Clearly articulate solutions and recommendations to business users.
- Collaborate with senior data science team members to present analytical content concisely and effectively.
- Deliver understandable and actionable business intelligence to key stakeholders.
- Potentially lead a small team or provide in-depth technical expertise in a scientific or technical field, aligning with the career path (Manager or Individual Contributor).
- Report technical complaints, adverse events, or special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt.
- Distribute marketing samples as applicable.
- Ensure a healthy and safe workplace by complying with Novartis HSE and ISEC standards, implementing safety measures, providing training, supporting employee well-being, investigating incidents, and collaborating with HSE teams.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Achievement and governance endorsement of data management and advanced analytics program tollgates.
- Successful implementation based on KPIs and data management/advanced analytics program objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
