Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

Join Morningstar's AI & ML (Data Collection) team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. You will architect and deploy advanced systems that extract meaningful intelligence from PitchBook's vast unstructured data ecosystem—including reports, news, and textual content—using NLP, Generative AI, LLMs, and scalable pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• AI & ML Extraction: Build production-grade solutions to transform unstructured inputs into high-quality structured datasets using document parsing, chunking, embeddings, RAG, and Agentic workflows.
• Technical Execution: Design robust systems optimizing for accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability in Python/PyTorch/TensorFlow environments (AWS/GCP).
• Pipeline & MLOps: Integrate extraction components into high-throughput pipelines using Kafka/Airflow; implement CI/CD, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
• Innovation & Collaboration: Drive technical excellence through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and staying ahead in GenAI/NLP trends while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver business impact.
