Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Endava is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru, India. You will spearhead the creation and implementation of advanced machine learning solutions, propelling our company's AI ambitions forward.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated machine learning algorithms and models to address intricate business challenges.
• Create and implement machine learning pipelines utilizing frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Adhere to MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, versioning, monitoring, and retraining.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize machine learning opportunities.
• Manage the complete machine learning lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model deployment and ongoing monitoring.
• Implement and oversee the performance of ML models in production environments using tools such as MLflow, SageMaker, or Vertex AI.
• Optimize existing machine learning models to enhance performance and scalability.
• Conduct research into cutting-edge machine learning techniques and assess their potential application to our projects.
• Mentor junior ML engineers and contribute to the advancement of our machine learning capabilities.
• Articulate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and AI, integrating new methodologies into our projects.
• Develop and maintain thorough documentation for machine learning models, algorithms, and processes.
• Partner with data engineering teams to establish and refine efficient data pipelines for machine learning workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and machine learning.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks to optimize machine learning processes.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning or a related field.
• Advanced understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, encompassing supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in other programming languages such as R or Java.
• Expertise in deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Solid grasp of statistical analysis, mathematics, and data structures.
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
• A proven history of developing and deploying machine learning models in production settings.
• Skilled in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Commitment to staying current with machine learning and AI trends and research.
