About the Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at SAP in Bangalore or Gurgaon, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. You will leverage modern technologies such as Kafka, Postgres, Hana, gRPC, and AI/ML frameworks to optimize databases, services, and Large Language Model (LLM) infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Go, Java, or Python.
• Support the optimization of databases, services, and LLM infrastructure.
• Work with modern technologies including Kafka, Postgres, Hana, gRPC, and AI/ML frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to learn and apply best practices in system design and scalability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver features aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, with a preference for backend or AI/ML exposure.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, or Go.
• Familiarity with databases, APIs, or distributed systems concepts.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse, collaborative teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or project experience with AI/ML or LLM frameworks.
• Personal or open-source projects demonstrating technical curiosity.
• Interest in distributed systems and large-scale product development.
• A problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.
