Senior Java Software Engineer

Role: Senior Software Engineer - Java (Backend Developer)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Backend Developer to join our team of 12 engineers. You will be responsible for bringing various payment-related products to life, producing high-quality code, and benefiting from collaborative experiences within our diverse startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java (Java 8+).
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA teams to deliver robust solutions optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, Redis) to design efficient schemas and manage data flow.
• Implement security best practices to protect sensitive financial data in line with compliance standards.
• Participate in code reviews ensuring quality, maintainability, adherence to TDD principles, and architectural integrity.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues promptly using strong analytical skills.
• Leverage agentic AI tools for development and testing workflows (Mandatory).

Technical Requirements

• Strong programming knowledge in Java 8 and above with experience in Spring Boot framework and Hibernate/JPA.
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture, Event-Driven Architecture using Kafka streams, and RESTful services concepts.
• Experience with SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, Redis).
• Familiarity with Cloud services like AWS is a plus. Ability to convert functional requirements into technical specifications.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional Java experience in software application development.
• Mandatory: Must have used agentic AI for development and testing processes.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Git version control tools.
