About the Role
Join Tata Consultancy Services as a Senior Java Software Engineer in Chennai, India.
Role Purpose:
You will deliver high-quality Java-based services and cloud-hosted solutions on AWS. You'll contribute to designing, developing, testing, and optimizing digital applications while adhering to established engineering standards. Collaboration with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams is key to ensuring secure, maintainable, and aligned service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development: Develop Java microservices using Spring Boot; implement RESTful APIs and reusable components; write clean, tested code.
- Cloud Engineering (AWS): Build cloud-native solutions using Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS; contribute to architecture discussions focusing on security and scalability.
- Quality Engineering: Write automated tests; support CI/CD activities and code reviews.
- Technical Collaboration: Work with DevOps, QA, and Product teams; participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Operational Support: Troubleshoot deployments and maintain stability using monitoring tools.
Essential Skills (Must Have):
- Strong Java experience (Java 17+ preferred), Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs.
- Hands-on AWS services exposure in real delivery environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and testing frameworks like JUnit/Mockito.
- Basic knowledge of Docker and cloud networking.
Desirable Skills:
- IaC experience (Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Event-driven systems exposure (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
- Observability tools familiarity (ELK, CloudWatch, Grafana).
