Senior Java Developer

MostEdge is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Distributed Systems to build the core of our Multi-Enterprise Retail Intelligence Platform. This role is crucial for developing a scalable, integrity-focused, and high-performance platform designed for multi-store retailers, enterprise chains, and large B2B organizations. We are building distributed systems that demand correctness, speed, resilience, and evolvability, moving beyond simple API development to tackle complex event-driven architectures, multi-tenant SaaS, and high-scale distributed platforms.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building platform-level backend systems, specifically distributed domain services that enforce clear ownership, publish reliable and versioned domain events, and integrate into an event backbone where correctness and replay safety are paramount. Your work will involve implementing event-driven data flows with reliable publishing and idempotent consumption patterns, ensuring projection rebuilding, safe replay, and system decoupling. You will also contribute to designing high-performance read models for low-latency dashboard responses, enforce strict multi-tenant boundaries and role-based access across complex organizational structures, and ensure services are aware of and safely handle elastic lifecycles like provisioning, active, parked, or suspended states without compromising data integrity.

Core responsibilities include architectural ownership, aligning service designs with platform principles such as single writer ownership and contract-first APIs; distributed systems engineering to build reliable, horizontally scalable services; performance discipline to meet strict latency targets; and operational excellence through writing observable services, emitting structured telemetry, and contributing to system hardening.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience building distributed systems in production.
• Proficiency in event-driven architecture, idempotency, and scalable API design.
• Strong experience with relational databases and multi-tenant SaaS systems.
• Commitment to architectural integrity over shortcuts.

Preferred Experience:

• OLAP systems, Kubernetes-based services, high-volume transactional platforms, schema evolution without downtime, subscription/entitlement systems, or retail/fintech-scale systems.

Success Metrics:

• First 90 Days: Ship a production-grade domain service aligned with platform standards, publishing reliable events and integrating into analytics pipelines.
• First 6 Months: Influence architectural decisions, improve performance, enhance system stability, and become a trusted contributor to distributed system design.
