Senior Java

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join Mindera in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in building scalable, high-performance backend services and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy solutions for large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.x.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs adhering to best practices.
• Develop robust data models and queries for SQL Server and document-based structures in MongoDB.
• Implement caching layers using Redis to enhance system performance.
• Integrate and manage Kafka for event-driven and message-based communication.
• Build, deploy, and manage microservices on Kubernetes (AKS).
• Utilize GitHub for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define architecture and deliver solutions meeting performance, reliability, and security standards.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentor junior developers.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+, preferably Java 21.
• Proven expertise with Spring Boot 3.x.x and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, service design, and integration patterns.
• Proficient in database management, including SQL Server (queries, optimization, stored procedures) and MongoDB (schema design, indexing).
• Experience with Redis for caching solutions.
• Practical experience implementing Kafka as a messaging platform.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, ideally AKS on Azure.
• Experience using GitHub for version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD.
• Good understanding of cloud-native principles, monitoring, and logging.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with the Azure ecosystem and DevOps pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerization best practices using Docker.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Testcontainers.
