Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and escalations from L2 teams, providing expert guidance on remediation actions.
• Investigate and assess security incidents, accurately determining their impact, root cause, and appropriate response strategies.
• Perform deep analysis of logs from security tools including EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and system logs.
• Identify, contain, document, and eradicate malicious activity in accordance with established incident response procedures.
• Create and refine SIEM rules and monitoring alerts to significantly improve threat detection capabilities.
• Correlate events from multiple sources to effectively detect intrusion attempts and identify affected systems or data.
• Escalate security incidents and critical threat intelligence to relevant stakeholders and technical teams promptly.
• Continuously enhance detection and response processes based on insights derived from investigations.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, network, and application teams to facilitate remediation efforts and strengthen defenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (minimum 5 years in SOC, incident response, or cyber forensics).
• At least 3 years of dedicated experience working within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
• Strong expertise in analyzing logs from essential security tools such as firewalls, proxies, EDR, and IDS/IPS systems.
• Solid understanding of network architecture, TCP/IP, OSI model, and system interactions.
• Proven experience in handling and correlating cybersecurity incidents within operational settings.
• Knowledge of web application architecture and major application protocols (HTTP, DNS, SMTP).
• Familiarity with Active Directory and common malware types and their behaviors.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and incident investigation skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+) are considered a valuable asset.
