Senior GenAI Engineers

NTT DATA is seeking experienced Senior GenAI Engineers to join our team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This role involves designing, building, and productionizing advanced Generative AI and agentic systems, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), tool-using agents, and workflow/graph-based orchestration, on major hyperscalers like Azure, AWS, and GCP. You will lead the entire development lifecycle, from problem framing and data pipeline design to model selection, finetuning, implementation of safety guardrails, evaluation, observability, and MLOps deployment. This position also requires mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with product, design, and client teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build GenAI/agentic systems such as chat copilots, workflow/graph agents, tool usage, and memory functionalities.
• Implement core components including chunking, hybrid search, vector stores, re-ranking, feedback loops, and continuous data quality/evaluation processes.
• Select, integrate, and finetune Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal models.
• Apply sophisticated prompt-engineering techniques to address specific use cases.
• Leverage experience in LLMs, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning (DL), Machine Learning (ML), and object detection/classification.
• Ensure understanding and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and implement guardrails and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) redaction.
• Finetune LLM models for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with presales and customer teams on solution building.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders across multiple geographies.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in GenAI, machine learning, and AI technologies to continuously optimize our technical stack.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in software/ML engineering, with a minimum of 1.5 years hands-on experience with LLMs/GenAI and agentic frameworks.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering production AI systems on at least one hyperscaler (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Demonstrated experience leading teams of 3–6 engineers and owning end-to-end project delivery.

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python for building AI-ML/GenAI solutions.
• Experience with agent orchestration using leading frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Extensive experience with Vector Databases like Pinecone, Milvus, Redis/pgvector, including hybrid search and re-rankers.
• Experience in evaluation and observability for AI systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL Query, NLP, Computer Vision (CV), and Deep Learning Algorithms.
• Experience with Open Source Models.
• Experience in UI/UX will be considered an added advantage.

Resume Selection Guidelines:

• Delivered at least 2 GenAI/Agentic AI solutions for clients.
• Minimum 6+ years of extensive experience in Python.
• Led 2–3 successful client Proofs of Concept (POCs)/Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
• Led a team of at least 3 GenAI Engineers.
