Senior Fullstack Engineer - Remote (Contract-to-Hire)

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Go and dynamic frontend applications with TypeScript, powering Bolt's core checkout and merchant dashboard functionalities.
• Merchant Dashboard Ownership: Spearhead the development of the Connect-specific merchant dashboard and continuously evaluate and improve the overall merchant dashboard experience across the Bolt platform.
• Checkout Experience Optimization: Collaborate closely with design, product, and data science teams to craft intuitive, high-performance checkout flows that maximize both merchant and shopper conversion rates.
• Scalability and Performance Tuning: Optimize and manage PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch databases to ensure high availability, responsiveness, and performance for all merchant-facing applications.
• Technical Leadership: Lead key technical initiatives, conduct thorough incident investigations, participate in on-call rotations, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.
• Merchant Collaboration: Engage directly with merchants to thoroughly understand their dashboard and checkout requirements, resolve integration challenges, and propose scalable, innovative product solutions.
• Security and Compliance Assurance: Uphold strict adherence to PCI, data privacy, and fraud-prevention standards for all developed dashboard features and checkout systems.
• API Development: Build and maintain reliable REST APIs and webhooks for seamless integration with merchant tools, analytics platforms, and leading e-commerce platforms such as Magento 2, BigCommerce, and Salesforce Demandware.
• Observability and Monitoring: Leverage Datadog for comprehensive logging, monitoring, and tracing to guarantee system reliability, optimize alert quality, and ensure transparency.
• Automation and Pattern Recognition: Proactively identify operational inefficiencies, automate routine workflows, and develop proactive monitoring tools to enhance both the developer and merchant experience.

Please note, this is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position after 3-6 months.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience with major cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, GCP, or similar.
• Proven strong experience in both frontend development (TypeScript, React) and backend development (GoLang, Python, or Java).
• In-depth understanding of web application architecture and system design principles focused on scalability.
• Demonstrated experience with testing frameworks including Jest, Mocha, or Ginkgo.
• Proficiency with database technologies such as Postgres, DynamoDB, and BigQuery.
• Comfort and experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
