Senior Full Stack Engineer

Join Cisco Systems in Bengaluru, Karnataka, as a Senior Full Stack Engineer focused on SD-WAN. Our Routing SD-WAN Group is seeking a versatile engineer to develop AI-driven network applications. You will combine expertise in Angular JS for intuitive frontend interfaces with Java for robust backend systems, contributing to the development of scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that power real-world impact.

Your impact:

• Build & Scale Core Systems: Design and develop high-performance Java backend services and APIs for real-time network operations and large-scale deployments.
• Create Dynamic User Experiences: Develop modern, responsive frontend applications using React/Angular for network transparency, policy control, and diagnostics.
• Modernize Architecture: Transform legacy monolithic systems into modular, cloud-ready, and scalable solutions.
• Optimize Performance & Reliability: Enhance APIs, data flows, and distributed system interactions, resolving production issues and improving system stability.
• Collaborate & Innovate with AI: Work multi-functionally to deliver quality features and leverage AI tools like Copilot/Codex to boost productivity, testing, and debugging efficiency.

Minimum qualifications:

Ideal candidates possess 8+ years of full-stack development experience and a Computer Science degree (BE/BTech/MS/MCA or equivalent) or relevant practical experience. We value diverse backgrounds.

• Proficient in Angular with working knowledge of React, combined with proficiency in modern frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) and a passion for building responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences.
• Ability to debug production issues, resolve API failures, and optimize system performance in complex environments.
• Good experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot, building scalable, reliable APIs for high-impact applications.
• Proven understanding of distributed systems, including data flows, service dependencies, and system interactions.
• Experience designing and consuming reliable REST APIs, along with using AI-powered tools (e.g., Copilot, Codex) to improve productivity and drive innovation.

Preferred qualifications (Optional Skills):

• Exposure to networking domains, particularly network management systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, public cloud platforms, and CI/CD with modern testing practices.
• Experience with Python or scripting for automation and tooling.
