Senior Full Stack Engineer

Raochra is a sensemaking consultancy helping founders close the 'Clarity Gap'. We are now building this diagnostic discipline into software starting with Intent Check. Engineering here demands production rigor: twelve-factor services, infrastructure as code, one deployable artifact promoted by digest, and privacy engineered into architecture.

We are hiring a remote Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the build of Intent Check and set enduring engineering patterns for every future app on our platform. You will own architecture decisions alongside founders in an environment with no layers of process between you and leadership. This role is ideal for someone who orients fast on ambiguous, high-stakes problems rather than waiting for fully-specified tickets.

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features end to end at a senior level of ownership and code quality.
• Make and document architecture decisions (ADRs) for the platform, not just individual features.
• Set and enforce engineering patterns — auth, data access, delivery, privacy — that every subsequent app will inherit.
• Integrate third-party services (identity, payments, email, analytics, LLM vendors).
• Build backend services with REST/GraphQL APIs featuring clean, documented interfaces.
• Mentor less experienced engineers as the team grows.
• Deploy and monitor applications on AWS infrastructure with real ownership of production reliability.
• Work directly with founders to translate product decisions into software under tight deadlines.
• Debug and resolve production issues across the stack, including those without a clear owner.
• Own privacy- and security-relevant design decisions (data retention, encryption) as first-class engineering work.

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience owning architecture decisions.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frontend frameworks like React or Next.js.
• Solid backend experience with Node.js (Express/Nest) and/or Python (FastAPI/Django).
• Expertise in relational databases: PostgreSQL, schema design, query performance, migrations.
• Experience building REST APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
• Production experience with cloud platforms like AWS and DevOps fundamentals including CI/CD, Docker, and secrets management.
• Fluency in Git for setting code review standards.
• A dynamic background spanning multiple domains, stacks, or company sizes.
• Comfort working fully remote independently on ambiguous problems.

• Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) with evals and guardrails.
• Familiarity with authentication providers like WorkOS or Clerk.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and container orchestration.
• Prior experience as a technical lead, founding engineer, or first hire at an early-stage startup.
