Senior Full Stack Developer

About the Role: LSEG is seeking a highly autonomous Senior Full Stack Developer to design, build, and operate the enterprise People Function Capability Layer. You will collaborate with a lean, high-impact team of Data Engineers to extend backend integration services and enhance data visibility for business stakeholders. This dual-role position involves developing scalable APIs, low-code user interfaces (e.g., using Retool), and event-driven microservices to surface insights and streamline workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement low-latency, scalable RESTful APIs using Golang and Python.
• Develop and secure event-driven microservices and integration patterns in collaboration with Data Engineers.
• Build optimized queries, aggregation logic, and transformation layers to integrate data across relational (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) systems.
• Create and maintain high-value internal applications tailored to user personas using JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, and Retool.
• Define technical standards, design patterns, and best practices for development, security, and architecture.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for efficient software delivery.
• Implement observability practices using Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus to monitor application and infrastructure health.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to translate requirements into scalable, user-centric solutions.
• Design and manage AWS infrastructure (Lambda, SQS, S3, RDS, API Gateway, EKS, ECS, IAM, CloudWatch) for highly available, low-latency workloads.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Golang/Python (backend), JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend), and HTML5/CSS for responsive interfaces.
• Proficiency in API lifecycle management (schema design, versioning, throttling, payload optimization).
• Deep understanding of SOLID principles, dependency injection, and error handling.
• Expertise in AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, VPC, EKS, ECS, IAM, CloudWatch) and cloud-native design.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus).
• Strong grasp of cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, compliance).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of full-stack or software engineering experience, including 3+ years in full-stack development.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building full-stack applications with Golang/Python (backend), JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend), and AWS/Kafka.

Nice-to-Have: AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect – Associate, Developer).
