Full Job Description
CodeXray is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer (UI) specializing in observability and data visualization to lead the frontend architecture of our AI-guided observability and API security platform. This role demands expertise in rendering high-density data visualizations (time-series charts, trace waterfalls, flamegraphs, service dependency maps, heatmaps, and virtualized log tables) while ensuring smooth performance under massive data loads. You will own the end-to-end architecture, implementation, and iteration of the frontend, collaborating closely with backend teams to shape APIs that meet frontend needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and optimizing real-time data visualization with WebSockets, streaming updates, and incremental rendering to handle spikes in data volume.
- Building a cohesive design system that unifies three product surfaces into a seamless experience.
- Ensuring the product functions in air-gapped on-premise deployments with predictable bundle behavior.
- Setting and enforcing performance benchmarks (interaction latency, memory usage, initial load) through rigorous code reviews, testing, and mentorship.
- Partnering with backend teams to influence API design for scalability and usability.
What we're looking for:
- 5–6 years of experience building production-grade web applications, with a focus on data-heavy dashboards.
- Mastery of JavaScript/TypeScript, React (including performance optimizations like memoization, virtualization, and profiling), and modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack).
- Strong expertise in real-time data handling, WebGL/Canvas rendering, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Experience with OpenTelemetry concepts (traces, spans, metrics, logs) and familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, Prometheus, Jaeger).
- Knowledge of API security concepts (OWASP Top 10, CVSS scoring) or security tooling UIs is a plus.
- Open-source contributions, side projects, or technical writing are highly valued.
