Senior Front-End Developer (UI/UX Focus) - Hyderabad
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Web Developer with a profound passion for UI/UX design and accessibility to join our team in Hyderabad. This pivotal role involves being a key contributor to the development and maintenance of React-based theming solutions and guiding the evolution of a shared component library used across numerous organizational projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks like React, Redux, and TypeScript. A strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA), and functional programming principles is essential. While the primary focus is on front-end development and user experience, this position also requires collaboration on other development initiatives.
Success in this role demands creativity, sharp analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously while actively influencing best practices across development teams.
Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to the design and development of company-wide web applications and foundational libraries.
- Lead architectural design, development, and implementation of new software components.
- Independently manage project activities, including builds and deployments.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive software tests to ensure high functionality and quality.
- Create detailed design documentation for new software and subsequent iterations.
- Proactively identify opportunities for application improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate effectively with business analysts and product managers to translate new requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide support and mentorship to fellow developers on JavaScript/web development concepts.
- Uphold and enforce team guidelines for superior quality and consistency.
- Adhere to established company software development processes and standards.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; a graduate degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of advanced JavaScript and functional programming experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of advanced CSS experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with HTML5 techniques.
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong, proven experience with React and its associated libraries (e.g., Redux, React Hooks).
- Proficiency in TypeScript for developing scalable and maintainable codebases.
- Familiarity with functional programming principles and component-driven development methodologies.
- Deep understanding of UI/UX best practices, responsive design principles, and design systems.
- Hands-on experience implementing WCAG and ARIA accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into high-quality, functional interfaces.
- Experience with modern build tools such as Webpack, Vite, and Babel, and package managers like npm.
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.
- Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to or actively maintaining shared component libraries or comprehensive design systems.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques specifically for Single Page Applications (SPAs).
