Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Workato is seeking a seasoned Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join its AI Solutions team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI Agentic Solutions with autonomous, proactive, and adaptive capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of AI/ML, integration, automation, and solution architecture, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Architecting and implementing agent-based AI solutions using the Workato Agentic AI platform.
• Designing intelligent, autonomous, and efficient agentic AI workflows that leverage multi-agent collaboration, orchestration, and Workato's automation capabilities.
• Designing and deploying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using Workato's Agentic AI, utilizing connectors, workflows, and recipes for context-aware, grounded, and real-time LLM responses.
• Developing advanced prompting, memory management, and behavior-planning techniques for LLMs and agents to author and execute complex workflows.
• Serving as a technical solutions expert, troubleshooting and analyzing AI-driven architectures, including scalable RAG pipelines and agent frameworks on the Workato platform.
• Developing and maintaining robust, scalable AI-powered IT workflows with agent-based decision-making, dynamic retrieval, and seamless integration via the Workato Agentic AI platform.
• Continuously monitoring and improving AI system performance for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborating closely with customers to understand use cases and deliver tailored, scalable agentic AI and RAG solutions, ensuring alignment with technical and business needs, customer satisfaction, and successful implementation.
• Integrating AI workflows into existing IT frameworks with cross-functional teams.
• Contributing to internal process improvements and knowledge sharing within Workato's knowledge base.
• Playing a key role in all phases of product development, from ideation to implementation.
• Assisting product managers with technical and design specifications.
• Translating complex technical concepts into accessible insights for non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

• This role supports US business hours (6:30 PM - 3:30 AM IST).
• BTech/BE or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant design, development, and implementation experience, with at least 3 years specifically on the Workato platform.
• Proven experience in AI engineering with a focus on agent-based systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable AI-driven workflows for IT operations.
• Proficiency in integration projects, with hands-on experience in automation technologies, middleware, integration architecture patterns, web services, enterprise messaging, APIs, SOA, ESB, BPM, SDKs, and databases.
• 5+ years of experience with integration platforms (Workato, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, MuleSoft) and a plus for cloud technologies (iPaaS, SaaS, cloud infrastructure).
• Strong knowledge of APIs (RESTful, SOAP/XML), JSON data structures, and RDBMS/NoSQL databases.
• 2-3 years of coding experience (Java/Python/Ruby).
• Technical background and understanding of industry trends in app integration.
• Experience with cloud business apps like Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Marketo is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microservices, API-based integration architecture, event-driven architecture, BPM, or RPA is a plus.
